SEX FILES: The allure of the older woman
In my late teens, 20s and early 30s, I was often approached by much older men. Were some of these men inappropriately old, to the point where their advances felt creepy and predatory? Sure. However, It happened so frequently that it forged the idea that perhaps there was something about me that made me unappealing to guys my age. As a result, the majority of my partners were at the very least 5-10 years older than me. I never considered dating someone younger until I turned 34.

SEX FILES: How to successfully express yourself this coming spook season
The Halloween season is upon us and frankly, I am all for it. I have seasonal depression (along with just regular ole’ depression) so as the air chills and everything begins to taste like pumpkin spice – even things that really shouldn’t — this typically is when I transform into whatever the autumnal equivalent of Ebenezer Scrooge is. I hole up at home, hide under an afghan and pray for warmer days while throwing cinnamon-heavy Starbucks seasonal drinks at children from my balcony (I’m kidding about the last one).

SEX FILES: You might need some traction, but daters are officially back in action
I’d like to use this platform to officially announce that I’m back in the land of the living. Since becoming fully vaccinated this summer, I’ve been catching up with other fully vaccinated friends and have even gone on a few dates.

SEX FILES: Figuring out the playing field of 'FBoy Island'
Analyzing absurd dating shows has become a new sport for me over the course of the pandemic. When it comes to my entertainment needs, give me all the hot singles dating in animal costumes, couples falling in love while separated by walls, and deluded love birds willing to get married at first sight, please and thank you.

SEX FILES: Dating during the best of times, the worst of times
By the time you read this, I’ll have turned 40 for the second time. I say “for the second time” not because I’m ashamed of my age — if life is a party, I’m just happy I got the invite for another year — but because, in many ways, 2021 has felt like an ill-conceived reboot that no one asked for. To put it in TV terms (a.k.a. the lens in which I view nearly everything), after weathering the utter dumpster fire of 2020, we wanted the present-day version of Queer Eye (Jonathan Van Ness joyfully tossing his Jesus locks! Hot people making guacamole!) but instead were served the 2018 version of Roseanne, a show that at best pales to the original and at worst, just makes us feel uncomfortable.

SEX FILES: 'The Bachelorette' finale sparks debate on gaslighting
Season 17 of The Bachelorette ended earlier this month with a heated confrontation between Katie Thurston and her second runner-up Greg Grippo. In a tense exchange tailor-made for reality TV, Thursten accused Grippo (who’d unexpectedly left the show the previous episode after telling Thursten she was “the one”) of gaslighting her; sparking a debate across the internet over what constitutes emotional manipulation, as Thursten’s supporters dubbed Grippo “Gaslight Greg.”
