Will Facebook Dating change the way we find love in Canada?
A year after ending my last long-term relationship, I decided to give online dating a try. My former relationship predated the explosion of dating apps, so this was completely new terrain for me. At first, having so many possibilities at my fingertips was exciting, but after twelve months of swiping, liking and going on an endless stream of dates (none of which, amounted to anything serious), I told my friend over brunch, “I feel like I’m meeting a lot people I’d never meet otherwise….for a good reason.”

SEX FILES: Is chivalry really dead or do we just need to redefine it?
Last winter, I was out on a dinner date with a man I’d recently met. In the weeks leading up to our date, we’d talked nearly non-stop over text. As my friend put it, “divorced is the new single.”

I grew up in the granola-crunching, Birkenstock wearing Pacific Northwest where stores selling new age products are as common organic, fair-trade tofu (so, very). I knew these places existed, but associated them with stuff I was trying to avoid as a teenager, like natural deodorant and veganism. These crystal and incense filled boutiques were just another thing I walked by on my way to the mall to eat a McDonald’s hamburger and buy something made of polyester at Le Chateau.

Is self-imposed alone time hurting our relationships?
Last week I was in line for airport security when I noticed a woman wearing a t-shirt that said, “staying in is the new going out.” While this isn’t the first time I’ve come across this catchphrase, whenever I see it in a meme or plastered across products, I can’t help but nod my head in agreement.
