HOLDING A MATCH I suspect most of these fires began as civilized weenie roasts that fools or drunks didn’t keep from going wild. Scott Moe admitted their fires are manmade. Recent huge fines put in place by Nova Scotia to stop people from going into their forests is also an admission that it is people starting these disastrous blazes. Fire and fools are a deadly combination when coupled with dry conditions. We should be looking at who is holding the match, not pointing a finger at Mother Nature!

MADE IN CANADA Instead of giving billions of dollars to the softwood lumber industry and steel industry, would it not be better served if the government purchased these items to keep the industry going and use these items to reduce the cost of building houses and apartment buildings? This would lower the cost of building and stimulate the housing market, and subsequently the retail market as people purchase items to fill these houses and units.
