Can a reality TV ‘villain’ change? Tom Sandoval is trying

Tom Sandoval looked both nervous and determined as he walked down a backstage hallway. His sequined, emerald-green jacket shimmered as he sipped water, slapped his palms together and shook out his shoulders like a boxer loosening up before a match. Except in this case, the Bravo reality TV veteran was walking out with his new musical group to face four celebrity judges on Tuesday’s episode of NBC’s competition series “America’s Got Talent” and the millions of viewers at home.

How ‘Love Island USA’ forced a star’s exit after racist posts resurfaced

After the first “bombshell” entered the “Love Island USA” villa this season, she quickly became a fan favourite and a front-runner to take home the show’s $100,000 cash prize. But on Sunday night’s episode, the show was hit with a different kind of explosion when Cierra Ortega, a 25-year-old L.A.-based content creator, was kicked off the show – the culmination of days of outcry after social media posts in which she’d used a racial slur resurfaced.

Among its many other attributes, 28 Years Later  is a reminder of why Ralph Fiennes is a cultural object to be treasured. Rarely bothering with lead roles, the actor prefers instead to airdrop into films as a politely strange supporting presence, radiating intelligent lunacy tinged with regret. In Danny Boyle’s new movie – a jump-start to a dormant franchise and the first in a new trilogy – Fiennes appears midway through, dyed yellow with iodine and apologetic about the tower of skulls in his backyard. And he’s one of the movie’s good guys.
