It isn’t unusual for a dealership to offer discounts on a model which may have been on the book for a spell, or that it finds difficult to shift because of a weird option mix or poor colour combination. What is unusual is to find a store advertising nearly half off a six-figure halo car that was introduced to much fanfare barely six months ago.

But that’s exactly what’s happening at Landry Automotive, a Stellantis dealer located near Laval in La Belle Province. According to the store’s website, and the brand’s own locator tool, the retailer has more than two dozen examples of new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Packs on its lot on sale with discounts of nearly $50,000 each. Do not adjust your sets—you’re reading those numbers correctly.

Many bear a window sticker approaching or in excess of CDN$100,000. A random survey serves up this example, which bears an MSRP of $108,604 after tallying up options like a 670-hp Scat Pack addition; Plus Group; Track Pack; carbon and suede interior trappings; sunroof and banging stereo; and the Triple Nickel paint. The listed sale price sees the EV being offered up for the grand sum of $58,899, a discount of $48,705.

That’s pretty much enough cheddar that the dealer could run a separate advertisement that anyone buying one of these at full pop could get a new Dodge Hornet for free. According to the digital signage, freight is included in that figure, and there are no admin fees, though the included freight charge is listed as $2,095 in the promotional materials and $2,695 on the Monroney.

Much digital ink has been spilled about Dodge’s decision to lead with an EV foot when introducing its new Charger, a choice which generally fell flat with fans of the brand. Engineers have been working to stuff an internal-combustion engine up the nose of this thing, launching “Sixpack” trims with the “Hurricane” straight-six just last week. If rumours are to be believed, a Hemi V8 may be in the cards. Dodge appears to have no shortage of those engines, seeing as how it is now plugging one into every Durango SUV for the 2026 model year.
