Toyota is giving its 2026 Corolla Cross and Corolla Cross Hybrid models a facelift—somewhat literally, in the case of the Hybrid, with the ’25 crossover’s frowny, downturned grille giving way to a more cohesive, colour-keyed visage for ’26. The gas-powered model gets its own distinct new look that Toyota calls “bold [and] rugged.” We can see that in the black-plastic-trimmed front end, sure, but more than that, we think it just makes this sport-ute feel like it’s a little, well, cross.

But the styling isn’t the only thing the automaker’s updated for this coming model year, with the interior also seeing some attention. Specifically, the front centre console has been reconfigured to free up as much storage space as possible; and there’s a new 10.5-inch infotainment touchscreen in several of the trims. (It complements a 7-inch “Multi Information Display” or a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, depending on grade.) The top trims of gas and Hybrid also get rear heated seats standard, now.

The last round of updates regard the typical paint-and-wheel changes. Some trims get a new Calvary Blue hue, as seen on these pages; both of the Hybrid trims do, and there they can be partnered with a black-roof two-tone. XLE-grade gas Corolla Crosses also get a new Portobello upholstery option. There are two new sets of 18-inch alloy wheels available on select trims, one a dark metallic with machine bits; the other more a painted gloss black rim.

We’ve only mentioned XLE so far, but here’s the trim walk: Corolla Cross Hybrid models can be specced in either SE or XSE, but both come standard with AWD; the gas range starts out with L and LE, available in either FWD or AWD; and then the top gas trims are LE Premium and XLE, both in AWD only. If you’re not up-to-date, the Hybrid’s propulsion comes via a 2.0-litre four-cylinder tied to three electric motors, the combo good for 196 hp and a manufacturer-estimated 5.6 L/100 km; the gas version gets a different 169-hp 2L four, delivering 7.8 L/100 km in AWD applications and 7.4 L/100 km in FWD. Both gas and Hybrid mills are backed by two different CVTs.
