Many people took to Twitter to object, blasting the magazine’s decision citing Shelton’s past tweets that have been labeled as homophobic, misogynistic and racist.
I took a very unofficial poll of my coworkers to assemble a list of five alternative stars who deserve the Sexiest Man Alive title (although two have already won, we liked them enough to include them again).
One of the Ryans: We’re talking Reynolds or Gosling of course! Either of these two Canadian boys could easily wear the Sexiest crown.

Jason Momoa: It doesn’t matter if you’re more of a Khal Drogo or Aquaman fan, Momoa looks ruggedly handsome in both roles.

Chris Hemsworth: The Aussie actor has had a couple of hot years thanks to the success of his role of Thor in The Avengers and standalone Thor movies.
Idris Elba: We’re still holding out hope that this British heartthrob will be the next James Bond, but we’ll continue to cherish his time on The Wire and Luther.

Mads Mikkelsen: OK, this is a bit of an alternative choice but you have to hand it to the Danish actor for making us fall in love with his portrayal of the sick cannibal killer Hannibal.
