Goldie told Buzzfeed that she “thought it was a joke” when she saw the picture, but quickly realized it wasn’t when she learned it appeared on Madonna’s official Instagram account.

“I look Kewl,” Madonna captioned the snap of herself wearing a Joy Division shirt and displaying a pouty snarl with the hashtag #rebelheart to promote the record’s release.

“I tried to reach out via Instagram to her team twice, to no response,” Goldie told the website. “I think if you’re going to play somebody else’s body off as your own, they deserve to be mentioned. But no hard feelings!”

Several others pointed out that the watermark from Goldie’s original image is visible in Madonna’s post.

Maybe she thought we’d just know since it is very obvious that it’s Photoshopped,” one fan wrote defensively.

Goldie told Buzzfeed that she found it flattering that Madonna used her pic to help promote the album saying her song Hung Up “was on my teenage playlist for quite some years.”

“I’ve been told it’s a great ‘party flex,’ which makes me laugh,” Goldie said. “I told it at a job interview and they loved it.”
