After referencing Trump supporter Roseanne Barr earlier in their discussion about the new Frasier revival, Grammer was asked by Justin Webb if he was still a fan of the former president.
“You mentioned Roseanne early on, who had a great comeback, but also was a Trump supporter, you were, at least you were a Trump supporter, I’m fascinated to know if you still are?” Webb asked.
“I am,” Grammer replied. “And I’ll let that be the end of it.”
Webb later said on BBC Radio 4’s Today show that Grammer was happy to keep talking, but was cut off by PR reps from Paramount+ (which is the streaming home of the new Frasier reboot).

“I have to say, actually, Kelsey Grammer himself was perfectly happy to go on talking about it,” Webb said [per Mediaite]. “The Paramount+ PR people, less happy that he talked about it at some length so we … They decided that we’d had plenty of time for our interview. But I should stress that he was absolutely perfectly happy to talk about why he supports Donald Trump and still does in the coming election.”
The Toronto Sun has reached out to Paramount+ for a response to the alleged incident.
In a recent interview with Postmedia, Grammer spoke about his decision to revive Dr. Frasier Crane nearly 20 years after he went off the air on NBC.
“I think the world needs a laugh. People are in the mood to laugh at themselves,” Grammer said. “People want to be able to laugh a little bit and just sit back and enjoy yourselves and think, ‘Oh, television is a wonderful place to spend a little bit of time and drop some of this other stuff for a while.'”

The reboot returned with a new cast, including Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas Lyndhurst and Jack Cutmore-Scott (who plays Frasier’s son Freddy).
Four decades after he originated the character on Cheers, Grammer said he sees the new series as a full-circle moment.
“He’s such an affable character. Some of that comes from me because I genuinely like people. I like examining the human experience. Our lives, our time together on the planet. I love people and that love is imbued in him. That fondness is part of the show. He’s in it with his whole heart and that’s why he’s fun to play.”
