Marc Anthony laughs off talk Jennifer Lopez is missing Alex Rodriguez

Marc Anthony isn’t holding back after a report floated the possibility his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez “might miss” life with her former fiance Alex Rodriguez.

The Latin Grammy Award winner — who was married to Lopez from 2004 to 2014 — dropped a series of laughing emojis to respond to an OK magazine post that suggested his ex still has a soft spot for Rodriguez, even though she has since reconnected with one-time fiance Ben Affleck.

“He believes Jen might start to miss what they had together, but she’s ready to put him in her rearview mirror,” a statement read beneath a pic of the previously engaged couple.

Anthony commented on the quote with five laughing emojis.

Lopez and Rodriguez ended their two-year engagement last April, announcing their split in a joint statement.

“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” the pair told the Today show. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

Just hours before their split was confirmed, A-Rod shared a cringey video showing several photos and mementos from the couple’s relationship set to Coldplay’s Fix You.

A month later, the retired baseball ace posted a family photo in which he and his two daughters settled down for a meal with three extra place settings, presumably for Lopez and her two kids, Max and Emme.

Rodriguez may have thought the breakup was just a speed bump, with a source telling E! that the one-time MLB star was “shocked” Lopez moved on so quickly with her former fiance Affleck, with whom she rekindled a relationship in April 2021.

“He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect,” the insider told E!

Lopez admitted last week in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that nobody was “more surprised” than her that she and Affleck — who called it quits in 2004 — were back together.

“You never could imagine that something like that could happen. It’s a beautiful thing.”

She told PEOPLE that she’s in love with the Argo director, adding, “I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him. It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”

This week, a source told Entertainment Tonight that relatives “would not be surprised” if the pair get engaged again.

“Ben and Jennifer are open to the possibility of getting engaged and married. Ben and Jen are so in love. Their loved ones would not be surprised if Ben pops the question.”
