NFL insider sparks rumour Travis Kelce bought engagement ring for Taylor Swift

As an NFL insider, Adam Schefter has been known for breaking all sorts of news from the biggest league in the world.

But his latest nugget of information actually might regard the biggest pop star in the world.

With the kickoff to the new NFL season just over a week away, Schefter may have dropped a massive hint regarding the relationship between the Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and global music sensation Taylor Swift — did the superstar tight end purchase an engagement ring?

During an appearance on ESPN, Schefter jokingly questioned host Laura Rutledge when she reacted to news about Kelce buying a stake in a racehorse named Swift Delivery by quipping that he hadn’t bought a ring yet.

“Wait, I have a question,” he said. “Laura, how do you know that Travis Kelce didn’t buy an engagement ring?”

“I don’t know. Do you know? Are you gonna break some big news here?” Rutledge replied.

Scheftler paused before saying with a coy look: “I’m just saying that you said he didn’t buy an engagement ring and I’m wondering how you have that information.”

That’s when co-host and former player Booger McFarland stepped in.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” McFarland began. “The awkward silence right there speaks volumes. Schefty, do you know something?

“America wants to know.”

Schefter kept up the coy act, remaining tight-lipped if he knows anything about the subject.

“All I did was ask a question about how Laura knew he hasn’t bought an engagement ring,” Schefter said. “That’s all I was doing.”

The exchange sparked a predictable frenzy online with fans trying to pry the truth out of Schefter.

Marriage speculation has swirled around the couple, who have been dating for about a year.

A source quoted by Life and Style revealed that Kelce and Swift are ready for the next step, but the reigning two-time Super Bowl champion wants to have a prenup in place first.

“This is a lot further along than either Taylor or Travis would care to admit since they’ve considered themselves unofficially engaged for a while and are both 100% committed to spending the rest of their lives together and starting a family,” the source is quoted as saying.

“The formalities are just their schedules that have gotten in the way, as well as the logistics of a prenup, which is obviously complicated by the vast amounts of money involved on both sides.

“There’s just no way Taylor would walk down the aisle without a prenup. They both want it figured out before Travis gets down on one knee.”

Engagement might not be the only big thing coming in the couple’s relationship.

According to the Daily Mail, Swift and Kelce may have a case of baby fever after spending the weekend with Patrick Mahomes and his family.

“Taylor’s always loved kids and never think that her career and ambition will get in the way of her biggest dream: To have her own family,” an insider told the Daily Mail. “She’s ready!”
