Once she and Prince Harry met, fell in love, and tied the knot, she knew that while she’d be able to maintain that philanthropic side of her life, Meghan’s life as an actress and blogger would be over.
According to royal author Tom Quinn, Meghan wanted to revisit what she knew from her former life after she and Harry announced they were stepping back as senior royals.
“They wanted to be Sussex Royal,” Quinn said in the Channel 5 documentary, Meghan at 40:TheClimb to Power, which aired on Saturday in the U.K. “Again this is an American culture thing coming in via Meghan. She, having crossed the Atlantic, began to think ‘we have got to be a brand.’”
Quinn said Harry’s family always hated the mention of “that terrible word” – brands, shudder.

Fast-forward to now, and they arguably have one of the biggest brands around.
Harry and Meghan created their organization, Archewell, through which they make all their official announcements — from their multi-million-dollar deals with Netflix, Apple and Spotify to news of their upcoming four books, including Harry’s memoir.
Many fear what Harry is going to expose next in his book due out next year, but what people might not be aware of is Harry’s fear is that he sees himself as having “limited shelf life” and doesn’t want to become “irrelevant” like his uncle, Prince Andrew.
“Harry has always been in such a rush to make an impact, because he thinks he has a limited shelf life before the public want to hear more from George and his siblings and he worries that after that, he’ll turn into his uncle,” a friend of Harry’s told the Sunday Times.

That likely won’t happen, especially if he and Meghan continue to dish about what they reportedly went through.
One royal aide said it best: “I fear they may sail into the sunset now, convinced they did the right thing by speaking ‘their truth,” they told the Daily Mail. “Now I hope everyone shuts the f— up.”
What are the chances of that happening, though?
With Lili’s christening coming up in the next few months, we’ll likely hear something from Harry and Meghan. Or perhaps they have another money-grab of a deal or royal secret to announce.
For now, they can rest assured that they’re still part of the Royal Family – for now.
The line of succession has been updated to include the couple’s second child, who is now eighth in line to the throne.
