After announcing his split from wife Sophie Grégoire, Trudeau shared a photo of him and his 15-year-old son Xavier attending the hit film last week, writing, “We’re Team Barbie.” The image received over 1450,000 likes, but Morgan wasn’t one of the ones cheering on the Canadian prime minster, who asked for privacy following the dissolution of his marriage.

“So glad I’m not Canadian,” Morgan wrote to his 8.5 million followers on Twitter, now called X.
The former CNN host’s comments generated nearly 40,000 likes, but he immediately divided the internet. “All of Canada is very glad you are not Canadian too!” one follower commented, with another adding, “Oh Piers, we’re happier. Trust me.”
Kitchener Mayor Berry Vrbanovic also fired back at Morgan in a tweet that read: “Hey @piersmorgan, I was raised that if I didn’t have something nice to say, it’s better not to say anything at all. Perhaps you can go and repeat that lesson.”

But Morgan’s dig also had its backers, with one person commenting, “Nothing stops Justin Trudeau from a photo-op. It’s the only thing he’s capable of.”
Jordan Peterson piled on, writing, “It’s hard to believe that he’s real. But it’s true.”
Morgan later returned to Twitter to thank Canadians for defending him.
“Humbled by all the love and support I’m getting from the great people of Canada,” he wrote. “Had no idea I was so popular there!”

“If I made a movie mocking women as useless dunderheads, constantly attacking ‘the matriarchy,’ and depicting all things feminist as toxic bulls***, I wouldn’t just be cancelled, I’d be executed,” Morgan wrote.
Morgan also complained that the film misses the point of feminism, which is women wanting equality with men.
“I don’t know any woman, other than perhaps U.S. female soccer superstar Megan Rapinoe, who wants a world where women dominate absolutely everything — and men are reduced to dim-witted doormats barely capable of changing a light bulb,” he wrote.
