Ryan Lochte’s new flame has a bit of fire in her.
The new girlfriend of the U.S. Olympic swimming great has hit back his ex-wife’s allegation that “betrayal” played a part in the couple’s split earlier this year.

After Lochte and Kayla Rae Reid – a former Playboy model – announced their divorce last month on their Instagram accounts, Reid made a cryptic accusation in a later post.
“Sometimes God allows the betrayal … because it leads to the breakthrough,” Reid wrote in a post on Instagram on June 27.
“Most people have no idea what I’ve endured. Ignore their opinions. Truth always reveals itself.”
But Lochte’s new girlfriend, Molly Gillihan, was having none of it.
“It’s okay to be so happy that your heart could explode out of your chest and you want to shout it from the rooftops,” Gillihan, who reportedly is a teacher, wrote on her private Instagram account, according to TMZ Sports. “If you’ve felt it, you know this to be true.
“We would not be here if we had anything to hide or if there had been any betrayal that occurred along the way. This little goofball came into my life patiently, sincerely, and honestly. I am choosing him.”

She closed the post with a heart emoji and tagged Lochte.
Lochte and Gillihan went official over the weekend with the 12-time Olympic medallist sharing several loved-up snaps of the couple together, celebrating the Fourth of July with friends and family.
Lochte, 40, also spoke out at Reid’s claims, telling the Daily Mail that he and Gillihan didn’t begin seeing each other until after divorce papers were filed in March and that his estranged ex was using social media to earn “pity.
“Kayla has blocked me on social media. She’s the one that wanted this divorce in the first place and now she’s playing this pity party,” Lochte told the outlet.
“I want people to understand that Molly didn’t take me away from my ex-wife. She didn’t take me away from my kids. We got a divorce and I left. I moved down the street because I wanted to be in my kids’ lives and I will always be in my kids’ lives.
“There was no infidelity with Molly, like nothing. Molly didn’t do anything wrong. She didn’t pursue me, I pursued her. It was after I got served with the divorce papers. I was out of the house and living by myself. It was all after the fact.”
Lochte and Reid share three children: Son Caiden Zane, 7, and daughters Liv Rae, 6, and Georgia June, 2.
While Reid filed for the divorce on March 26, the couple only announced the split earlier this month on their social media accounts. It was later reported that the couple is deeply in debt.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the estranged couple owes more than $369,000 to a variety of creditors, including the Internal Revenue Service.
The Daily Mail reported that Lochte and Reid have an unpaid balance of $136,000 to the IRS from the years 2021 and 2022.
