While his post generated over 194,000 likes, many followers sided with Asghari, accusing Trump Jr. of being unnecessarily mean.
“That’s low! Pick on someone in politics!” one person wrote, with another adding, “This is disgusting and beyond immature. Your privilege and snobbery on full display…once again.”
Trump Jr.’s post came just days after police were called to perform a welfare check on the singer after she alarmed fans by posting a video in which she danced around her home with a pair of knives.
“I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA,” Spears wrote last Thursday night after police checked in on the pop star.

Spears later lashed out at fans’ concerns saying their worry was blown out of proportion.
“Is it a joke in the news again with welfare checks??? Come on America … we cooler than that, right ??? The officers came to my home and said they would not leave until they spoke to me …,” she wrote on Instagram Saturday.
“I’ve been bullied in my home for so long now … IT’S ENOUGH!”
