According to Jackson, Trump committed the same faux pas “several times” when the pair golfed together.

Apparently, Trump’s antics on the links are well known.

“To say Donald Trump cheats is like saying Michael Phelps swims,” Golf writer Rick Reilly wrote in a 2019 Sunday Times article. “Trump doesn’t just cheat at golf. He cheats like a three-card monte dealer. He throws it, boots it and moves it.”

Reilly added: “Whether you’re his pharmacist or Tiger Woods, if you’re playing golf with him, he’s going to cheat.”

The writer said that caddies have even given the commander-in-chief the nickname “Pele” after the soccer legend for his alleged propensity because he kicked the ball so often for a better lie.

As for Jackson, when asked who was the better golfer, the Oscar winner didn’t hesitate: “Oh, I am, for sure. I don’t cheat.”

Taking to social media to reply to Jackson, Trump claimed he had never played with him on a course.

The president is known as a keen golfer who owns and has built numerous courses around the globe that have hosted PGA and LPGA tournaments.

Rumours of Trump’s dodgy antics on the links have swirled for years.

In 2016, former Law and Order star Anthony Anderson also accused Trump of unfair play. He spilled the beans on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

“Trump is a great golfer. I’m not going to say Trump cheats. His caddy cheats for him,” Anderson said.

When asked if he saw Trump cheat with his own eyes, Anderson replied: “Oh yes, several times. Several times.”

He added: “I mis-hit a ball — it hooked a little left about 20 yards. Trump hit the exact same shot but went 20 yards further left than mine.

“I could not find my ball in this trash. Trump’s ball had the fluffiest lie in the middle of the fairway.

“Like I say, I didn’t see Trump cheat because he was on the tee-box with me, but his ball was right there in the middle of the fairway.”

Reilly said in 2019 that Trump made second attempts at shots for apparently no reason. Then, he took credit for other players’ shots.

Meanwhile, Trump’s Turnberry golf course will not host the Open Championship anytime soon as the course is not commercially viable, golf’s governing body said.

In a blow to the U.S. president’s hopes of holding a major tournament on his Ayrshire estate, which spans more than 13 km and 800 acres, the chief executive of the R&A, which governs golf, said it would be logistically difficult.

Mark Darbon told Sky News that Turnberry was a “challenging” venue and there were no plans to schedule a championship at the course.
