The Full House star served as MC at Saturday’s Palm Beach Ray of Hope Gala, which supports nurses, but apparently that was no reason for him to be at “the wannabe dictator’s house,” according to many people on social media.

The 61-year-old defended himself on his Instagram Stories, explaining that the gig was to promote the non-profit and not anything political.

“I accepted the invitation to MC the Palm Beach Ray of Hope Gala — an evening dedicated to honouring and uplifting our frontline heroes,” he began the post.

“This nonpartisan event supports The Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations … that trains 350-400 nurses every year, directly addressing the critical shortage of health-care professionals in Palm Beach County.

“Supporting nurses isn’t political — it’s essential. These are the people who care for us and our families when we need it most and I believe we should show up for them with the same unwavering dedication they show up with every single day.

“I stand by the importance of health care, of service and of investing in those who care for our communities.”

Stamos had plenty of online supporters, too, with one person writing on Instagram: “John, no need to explain your beliefs to crazy liberals.”

Another user added, “Please don’t tell John Stamos where he’s allowed to attend fundraisers. It’s weird.”

However, many were incensed by the venue and have already cancelled the actor.

“John, you can support nurses a trillion different ways,” one person remarked. “Supporting them while at the wannabe dictator’s house isn’t the way to do it.”

Another called him a “MAGA clown,” adding, “Totally done with you!”

A third person agreed: “Speaking at Mar-a-Lago will always be political.”

Stamos publicly endorsed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in November during the presidential race while reflecting on the country’s political climate.

“It’s clear that our country is at a crossroads, and like many of you, I hope for a future where we can find unity and common ground,” he wrote in an Election Day post on Instagram.

“I believe our similarities far outweigh our differences, and deep down, we all want the best for our families, our communities, and our nation. It’s this belief that drives my hope for a country that embodies fairness, compassion, and progress.”
