Weezer bassist Scott Shriner has shared an updated on his wife, Jillian Lauren, two days after she was taken into custody for shooting at police in Los Angeles.
Shriner appeared to be in good spirits on Thursday after Lauren allegedly fired at officers who were involved in a hit-and-run manhunt in the Shriners’ neighbourhood, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
An armed Lauren, who had no involvement in the hit-and-run, fired her weapon at an officer while in a backyard, resulting in her arrest.
“She’s alright, thank you for asking,” the 59-year-old rocker said as he walked four dogs outside their home on Thursday, the New York Post reported.
“See you at Coachella!” he added as he returned to his home.
Weezer is set to perform at the musical festival on Saturday afternoon, and it appears the show must go on.
Cops say they ordered Lauren to drop the gun “numerous times,” but she refused and was shot in the shoulder as a result.
Aerial footage captured by KTLA showed an injured Lauren walking down her driveway with her hands in the air to surrender to cops.
She then lay face down on the ground before being cuffed by police.
Lauren was taken to hospital where she was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.
In the weeks before her arrest, the bestselling author had been documenting her health journey on social media after she was diagnosed with cancer.
“I’d like to thank the Academy, my amazing hair and makeup team, and the lighting designers here at #glendaleadventisthospital,” she captioned a March 4 Instagram post along with a photo from her hospital bed.

Lauren was freed after posting a $1 million bond on Wednesday, according to court records.
She is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.
