Billboard magazine has apologized after using an image of a nude wax figure of Taylor Swift from a Kanye West video to highlight the singer’s career achievements.

“We are deeply sorry to Taylor Swift and all of our readers and viewers that in a video celebrating Swift’s achievements, we included a clip that falsely depicted her,” Billboard stated in a post Thursday on social media platform X.
“We have removed the clip from our video and sincerely regret the harm we caused with this error.”
The entertainment magazine and website named Swift as the second-greatest pop star of the 21st century and released a video that celebrated her career achievements. The video included a snippet from West’s “Famous” music video which depicted a nude wax figurine of Swift laying in the hip-hop star’s bed.
The West song and video is a sore spot for Swift, who feuded with the rapper for several years.
In “Famous,” West raps: “I feel like me and Taylor might have sex/Why? I made that b**** famous.” Time reported Swift had an issue with her depiction in the lyrics and music video.
Swift once told Time that time period “took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.”
Angry Swifties tore into Billboard on social media, with the hashtags #BillboardIsOverParty and #BillboardApologizeToTaylor trending online.
Billboard went into damage control mode by removing the video and then posting an edited version without the “Famous” clip.
