Kim’s Convenience is closing up shop at the end of its current fifth season, now airing on CBC.
Producers made the announcement on Based on the award-winning play of the same name, the popular sitcom revolved around the Kim family and their downtown convenience store. POPULAR ON THE SUN Reacting to the news on Lead star Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, who played Appa, the owner of the convenience store the show revolved around, tweeted, “I have no words for now. Only a profound sense of loss and sadness.” Elsewhere, Andrew Phung, who portrayed Kimchee, wrote, “I’m so proud of everything we created and cherish all moments…” The series finale will air April 13 on CBC.
