While having a large penis is often viewed as something coveted by men, size matters as it can cause mental distress, too.

Oxford Online Pharmacy’s Lorraine Grover, a top sexual health nurse, said in her experience, “so many people” suffer relationship problems due to penis size — both in too large and too small.

It can lead to a loss in confidence among men.

“Men (broken up with due to their penis size) are often left questioning their worth and desirability,” the nurse said, per the U.K. Daily Mail.

Glover referenced one thread on Reddit entitled, “Have you ever broken up with a man because of his penis? If so, why?” as proof.

Many of the 15,000 responses refer to large penis size, and one blames an ex’s “mega penis” for ruining their relationship.

Yet another said that size and her partner “only knowing one speed” led to a breakup, while a third said they “couldn’t deal with the pain” that a large penis brought during sex.

“Once dated a guy that had a mega penis. No matter what he did, he hurt me,” said a post receiving 4,000 likes.

“Neither of us found the situation (enjoyable), so we decided to part ways.”

One woman commented on that post, saying, “I also dated a man who had a mega penis. We were never able to … needless to say, we didn’t last. He has kids now, he found a mega vagina, I guess.”

Another thread, entitled, “Men of Reddit, has the size (too big or not big enough) of your d— ever been the reason for an ended relationship?” brought similar responses.

One commenter said three relationship had come to an end — at least in part — because of his large size, adding, “saddest was when the woman I married said she enjoyed sex and then about two months into marriage admitted I was way too big and sex constantly hurt her.”

Glover weighed in.

“It’s interesting to see so many people being so candid online — albeit anonymously — about how they have broken up someone/been broken up with due to penis size.”

She added: “It’s important to remember that confidence is not just about size — it’s about self-acceptance, communication and what makes intimacy fulfilling beyond penetration.’

Recent research published in the British Journal of Urology International said that the average flaccid penis is 9.16 cm (3.61 inches) in length.

The same research found one-quarter of women had ended relationships due to a “mismatch” between their penis size preference and their partner’s actual size.
