Kim Kardashian recently caused a social media sensation when she announced the things she hates – including mustard, cilantro and blue cheese. Afrim Pristine, host of Food Network Canada’s Cheese: A Love Story and Canada’s only Maître Fromager, was slightly cheesed off at this declaration, and challenged Kardashian to get rid of her blues over blue cheese.

“One of the secrets to enjoying blue cheese is how you pair it,” said Pristine in a recent media release. “Think of blue cheese as the ocean blue – sometimes you have to go in knee-deep!”
Pristine is urging Kardashian to change her mind, and recently partnered with Castello Cheese (castellocheese.com) to make this happen as the company offers a variety of blue cheese types – “I’m sure Kim can choose her favourite.”
Amuse ‘Blue’che: Afrim calls this the perfect pre-dessert snack: spread caramel sauce over a buttery shortbread biscuit and sprinkle with a Danish blue cheese crumble on top – a perfect combination of sweet and salty.
Extra Creamy Blue: “this is blue cheese meets brie and it spreads like a dream,” said Pristine. Slather onto a crusty baguette, add prosciutto and top with slices of a honey crisp apple.
Perfect ‘Pear’ing: Features Gorgonzola – the king of blue cheese, said Pristine, suggesting adding some Gorgonzola to a slice of pear with a fig jam spread and top with a walnut. “Blue cheese and pear is like Bert and Ernie – they love each other,” said Pristine.
“Blue cheese is so good that I literally dream about it,” said Pristine, in a recently release, adding he shared his Blue Cheese challenge on his Instagram page @AfrimPristine and in the hopes Kim Kardashian will give it a try.
