KD and KFC team up for new menu offerings

There are those who like to keep their chicken sandwiches pretty basic, maybe some lettuce, a little mayo, the occasional pickle or tomato.

Then there are others who have been wondering how KFC can elevate their chicken sandwiches — and the fast-food chain responded.

KD, the maker of the well-known mac and cheese, has partnered with the popular chicken restaurant.

Beginning Monday, KFC restaurants will offer two new items: The KD Mac & Cheese Chicken Sandwich — triple-breaded chicken served with a pile of KD on top — and The KD Mac & Cheese Snacker Wrap, chicken tenders and KD loaded into a warm tortilla.

You can also head to grocery store aisles and grab the limited-edition KD KFC Original Recipe Flavour Mac ‘n Cheese, the classic boxed macaroni but seasoned with the Colonel’s secret blend of 11 herbs and spices.

Full disclosure, we had the opportunity to try the KD, and it is the perfect combination of that childhood favourite dish and KFC’s savoury chicken.
