First Look Media was founded by eBay founder and entrepreneur Pierre Omidyar in 2013 as a platform for “original, independent journalism.” Since then, the team has put a lot of team into developing Topic, a new entertainment streaming service focused on compelling and thought-provoking programming.
Topic’s roster features rare indie gems, diverse international offerings, thought-provoking originals, and award-winning films, such as Pagan Peak (Germany), Lambs of God (Australia), and Asako I & II (Japan). For new subscribers, Topic is having specials on one-year ($39.99) and two-year ($79.99) subscriptions.
Besides movies, Topic includes a wide range of original programming, including Rough Draft With Reza Aslan, What’s Your Ailment?! from Maria Bamford, and The Second City’s Last Show Left On Earth. Vikram Gandhi, the creator of the mockumentary, Kumare, has launched a continuation of that show on Topic called The Guru Inside You.
