People are loving a new TikTok trend where guys surprise their buddies by calling them up just to say goodnight.
Yes, it’s that simple.
Trends on social media can often be attempts at seeking attention with the hopes they go viral, and while the “goodnight, bro” prank is no different in that regard, its wholesome factor is more appealing than annoying.
In one video that has gone viral with more than 3 million views, TikTok user @mirandafaye01 shared her husband calling up friends to wish them good night before he hitting the sack.
“Hi, what’s up, man?,” the man says into his phone.
“I’m about to go to bed, and I’m just calling you to tell you good night.”
His confused pal replies, “What?” prompting Miranda’s husband to reiterate the sentiment.
“Why? Are you thinking of me for real?” the bewildered friend asks before the man says he loves him.
“Goddamn, I love you too,” the buddy responds, adding, “S***, man, I don’t know what to say; you caught me off guard.”
The man then calls another pal — clearly the partier of the group — who eventually responds by saying, “Night, night, sweet dreams” but then tries to encourage his friend to stay up.

“Uh, excuse me? Sweet dreams?,” before noting that it’s only 8:30 p.m.
The caller laughs and insists he’s about to hit the hay, prompting his pal to respond, “Well, sweet dreams, bro, nice! Hope you have a good night!”
Based on the comments that have rolled in since the video was posted on May 16, the world needed this.
“Proof men need more platonic love in their lives,” one person wrote.
Another noted how the first guy “went straight to I LOVE YOU TOO,” prompting another user to add, “Someone go hug the first guy.”
