Durham Regional Police have two men in custody following multiple violent stabbings.

On Sunday, June 16,  at 2:25 a.m., police responded to an armed person call in the Simcoe St.-Bloor St. area in Oshawa.

Police alleged that a suspect stabbed another man several times, before fleeing the area.

The alleged victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, June 17, at  5 p.m., police said officers responded to an armed person call in the Simcoe St.-Maple St. area in Oshawa. Police alleged that a male suspect assaulted another male with a weapon, before fleeing the area.  The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, June 22, at 4:25 a.m., police said officers responded to an armed person call in the Cedar St.-Simcoe St. area in Oshawa. Police alleged that a male suspect stabbed another male multiple times before fleeing the area.

The alleged victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, June 24,  at 9:15 p.m., police responded to an assault call in the area of Old Varcoe Rd.-Varcoe Rd. in Courtice. Police alleged that two male suspects stabbed another man multiple times, before fleeing.  The victim was taken to hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

 On Friday, Aug. 2, police arrested the first suspect allegedly responsible for the stabbings.  

 On Tuesday, Aug. 13, police arrested the second suspect allegedly responsible for the stabbings. He was taken into custody without incident.

Police said the accused and victims are all known to each other and the stabbings were isolated incidents.

Marlon Fernando Jones, 47, of Oshawa, is charged with numerous offences including three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possess weapon dangerous to public, three counts of assault with weapon, carry concealed weapon and two counts of possess Schedule I substance for trafficking.

Mehki Steven Hyman, 24, from Whitby, is charged with several offences including aggravated assault, possess weapon dangerous to public. carry concealed weapon, assault with weapon, and two counts of possess Schedule I substance for trafficking.

ACCUSED IN HAMILTON SHOOTING NABBED IN B.C.

A man sought for a Hamilton shooting has been captured and arrested in B.C.

Malcolm Davis has been wanted since the May 13 shooting in an alleyway near Kinrade Ave. and Barton St. in Hamilton.

Police had information that Davis may be in Western Canada and had been living in Saanich, B.C.

On Tuesday, Aug. 13, Saanich Police contacted Hamilton Police to advise that Davis had been arrested on the outstanding warrant.

Hamilton Police returned Davis to Hamilton on Friday to face the charges of discharge firearm with intent, reckless discharge of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of possession of an unauthorized firearm, possess firearm while prohibited, two counts of failure to stop after accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm contrary to court order.

TORONTO PAIR CHARGED WITH DRUG TRAFFICKING

Two Toronto men have been charged in a drug trafficking investigation.

Police say the accused were allegedly trafficking illegal drugs in the Jane St. and Wilson Ave. area.

On Sunday, police executed a search warrant and seized fentanyl, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and over $5,000 in Canadian currency.

Faheem Rahman, 33, of Toronto, was charged with 17 counts of possession of Schedule I substances for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, and fail to comply with probation order.

Nyron Palmer, 23, of Toronto, was charged with two counts of possession of Schedule I substances for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

MAN, WOMAN CHARGED, LOAD WEAPON SEIZED

York Regional Police have charged a man and woman after seizing a loaded firearm during a traffic stop in Markham.

On Sunday at 9:45 p.m., police were on patrol in the area of 16th Ave. and Stonebridge Dr. and stopped a. vehicle with two occupants.

Police discovered the male passenger was wanted by police and during a search police alleged that a loaded firearm was found in the vehicle.

Jaiden Groutsche, 24, of Mississauga, and Rachael Li, 19, of Markham, have been charged with possession of a loaded restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized.

TEEN FACING NUMEROUS GUN CHARGES

Toronto Police have arrested a teenage boy in a firearms investigation.

On Sunday at 2:03 a.m., police were called about a person with a gun in the Jane St.-Sheppard Ave. area.

Police said a youth was found at a residence and arrested. A loaded Glock 23 with a high-capacity magazine was allegedly seized along with ammunition.

A 17-year-old male from Toronto has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is prohibited and careless storage of a firearm.

3 CHARGED AFTER FIREARM BUST IN PARKDALE

Three people were charged with multiple firearm offences after a bust last week in the Parkdale area. 

Toronto Police said officers from the 14 Division major crime unit executed a search warrant on Friday in the King St. W.-Dowling Ave. area, where they allegedly seized a .22-calibre handgun, a suppressor, a magazine with ammunition and a “large quantity” of cocaine inside a residence.  

Aaron Doucette, 35, Anthony Scully, 41, and Deborah Bell, 47, all of Toronto, are each charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000. 

Doucette and Scully were also charged with additional offences related to probation and prohibition orders.
