3 charged after drugs found during probe into fatal QEW vehicle rollover

Halton Regional Police have charged three people with several offences following a vehicle rollover investigation.

On Jan. 29 at 3:43 a.m., police responded to a vehicle rollover on the westbound QEW off-ramp at Brant St. in Burlington.

Three male occupants and a female occupant of a Dodge Ram pickup truck were located on scene after being thrown from the vehicle. They were taken to hospital, where one man was pronounced dead.

Fentanyl, cocaine and a firearm were also allegedly located at the scene.

Preet Dhami, 25, of Brampton, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl), possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of identity documents and failure to comply with a probation order.

Mustafa Ta’amneh, 46, of Mississauga, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl), possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), unauthorized possession of a firearm in motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, weapons trafficking, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order and failure to comply with a release order.

Nitish Oberoi, 34, of Brampton, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl), possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
