The woman fatally shot in a southwest Calgary parkade Saturday afternoon had a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, whom police indicated owns a firearm, court records show.
Additionally, a man has now been taken into custody in relation to the case, police said Monday night. He was located at a Super 8 motel in the 7500 block of Macleod Trail S.W.

No other suspects are being sought in the shooting death of Madisson Cobb, 23.
In a May 30 affidavit sworn by Cobb in support of an application for court protection, the Okotoks resident said she was living in fear of her ex, Devon Bradley Malik.
“The RCMP made us aware that (he) has a firearm that they were unable to find, and (he) confirmed he had one when speaking to me,” the slain woman said in her handwritten statement.
She said Malik, whom police have not indicated is a suspect in her killing, had been inundating her with messages and calls since they broke up Jan. 28.
Court records also show the 26-year-old Malik faces two separate harassment charges, from May 30 in Okotoks, and June 1 in Calgary.
A second 26-year-old man faces a similar stalking charge from the same Calgary date. His connection to Cobb is unclear and police have also not named him as a suspect.
In her affidavit seeking a restraining order — which was granted June 10 and prohibited Malik from being within 100 metres of Cobb as well as her Okotoks home and her workplace, LASIK MD on Macleod Trail — Cobb indicated she feared Malik would harm her.
“This past month I have been living in fear, I shake and have panic attacks when I’m out or hear my phone go off out of fear he is there,” she wrote.
“I live in fear everyday from him. I want him out of my life.”
Cobb also indicated she tried to tell Malik that their breakup was best for both of them.
“I told him parting ways is best and no need for all this, he got upset and said ‘I’m making my own living hell,’ he called me a ‘stubborn bitch,’ ” she said.
“His last message states, ‘no threats, because I’m not the one that you have to worry about.’ ”

The parkade in which Cobb was fatally shot is adjacent to the commercial complex where she worked.
A spokesperson for the medical clinic provided a statement about Cobb’s death.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of one of our employees,” the unnamed spokesperson said.

“Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. While the incident occurred outside company premises and was not connected to work, we understand the emotional impact this has had on the wider community,” the statement said.
“Out of respect for the family’s privacy and due to the active nature of the investigation, we will not be commenting further.”
At a weekend news conference, Calgary police Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson said the incident was targeted but police weren’t yet able to comment on any relationship between Cobb and the shooter.
“We can’t confirm that yet, but we are definitely exploring all those avenues of any past relationships that may have been involved,” Gregson said.
“We’re aware of the past incidents involving the victim,” he added. “Any incidents with the judicial system and the courts, these are all avenues that are focusing as part of our investigation moving forward.
“This was a very cowardly act.”
