Just seven weeks ago, the alleged driver, Amidulla Baluch, had been released on bail after he was busted on an unrelated drug trafficking charge in Toronto’s west end.
On Monday shortly after 10 p.m., police say a black Mustang was seen performing stunts at high speeds in the Yonge-Dundas intersection, near the Eaton Centre.
A huge cloud of smoke and exhaust filled the intersection and pedestrians were seen in the intersection as they attempted to record the vehicle and were barely missed as it whirled in racing circles, police say.
Other pedestrians on the sidewalk were observed backing up from the spinning vehicle, police say. When police cars approached, the vehicle sped off and escaped.
Baluch was arrested on Wednesday and faces five charges, including dangerous operation of a conveyance, mischief endangering life, flight while pursed by a peace officer, stunt driving and careless driving.

Under his bail, Baluch, 21, must now live with his surety-mother, Svetlana Baluch, at her Toronto home and is under house arrest. He can only leave for medical emergencies or with his surety. Baluch has no prior criminal record.
His bail conditions prohibits him from driving or being in the care or control of a car. It is a $500, no-deposit bail.
Bail conditions also forbid Baluch from posting videos of any kind on the internet. He’ll be back in court on July 7 at Old City Hall.
On March 6, undercover cops arranged a cocaine purchase from a suspected dealer by meeting him in the Crossroads Centre at 2625 Weston Rd. The suspect informed the “buyer” that he was driving a black Mustang, sources told the Sun.
The undercover cop gave the dealer some $300 of “police buy” money and obtained the drug near a drive-through of a fast food restaurant. As soon as the transaction was completed, the suspect was arrested and the “police buy” cash was seized, sources said.
Baluch was charged with drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime charges, but released the next day with no deposit of $500 and no surety.
