Cops said that between Thursday and Saturday, they responded to six robbery calls in areas that included Queen St. W., Macdonell Ave., Finch Ave W., Weston Rd., Dufferin St., Gordon St., Dundas St. W., Jane St. and Sheppard Ave. W.
It’s alleged that in each incident a man entered a store while wearing a mask to disguise his identity and approached the checkout counter posing as a customer.
In five incidents, cops said, he pulled a handgun and demanded cash before fleeing the scene in a stolen vehicle.
Immediately after the last alleged robbery, officers found a man inside a stolen vehicle and took him into custody.
Police said at the time of the arrest that officers recovered a replica handgun and other items of “evidentiary value related to the investigation.”
Prince Kofi Apawu, 27, of no fixed address was charged with five counts of robbery with a firearm, robbery, six counts of disguise with intent and possession of property obtained by crime.
