Burlington woman arrested in Taylor Swift concert ticket scam: Police

Toronto Police say an arrest has been made in a Taylor Swift concert ticket scam worth $70,000.

Police say the accused used the alias of Denise Blackhawk on Facebook Marketplace and sold tickets for the Toronto concerts.

The suspect offered various dates and seat locations for the concerts.

When a price was agreed upon, the victim would be sent e-transfers for payment.

The accused told victims the tickets wouldn’t be released until days before the show.

The victims would find out on the day of the show that their tickets had not been transferred to them.

When those who were allegedly scammed tried to get their money back, they were told the money was gone.

Police say so far they know of 28 victims who paid for fraudulent tickets with a value of almost $70,000.

On Monday, Denise Tisor, of Burlington, has been charged with fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, 32 counts of fraud under $5,000, and 32 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Police believe there may be more victims and are working with the Halton Regional Police Service on this ongoing investigation.
