Cops identify victim in fatal Brampton shooting as 30-year-old Toronto man

Peel cops have released the identity of a victim in a fatal Brampton shooting over the weekend.

Peel Police were called for a shooting at about 9:15 p.m. on Saturday at St. Roch Catholic School at 200 Valley Way Dr. in the Williams Pkwy.-James Potter Rd. area of Brampton.

A male victim was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police said at the time the shooting did not appear to be random.

On Monday night, police identified the victim as 30-year-old Anthony Putzu, of Toronto.

On Monday, police reiterated they believe this is a targeted incident. They are appealing to anyone with information or dash camera video to call police at 905-453-2121 ext. 3205 or contact Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or at peelcrimestoppers.ca.
