The second getaway vehicle fled the area and police said it has since been found with help from York Regional Police.
All suspects were wearing masks and gloves to disguise their identity.
It’s the latest in a string of brazen smash-and-grab-style jewelry store robberies.
Earlier this month, video footages showed masked assailants smashing display cases and taking off with jewelry from a store in Hillcrest Mall. Police said four males were involved. Last month, a 14-year-old boy was charged in connection with a jewelry store robbery that happened on Oct. 30 in the Sheppard Ave. E.-Don Mills Rd. area. In another recent incident at Markville Mall in Markham, York Regional Police and mall security sprung to action, leading to the arrest of six suspects.
