A Toronto man has been charged with three counts of impersonating a peace officer.

Toronto Police said on Wednesday around 7:25 p.m., they responded to a call for a suspicious incident in the Lake Shore Blvd. W. and Humber Bay Park Rd. W. area.

It’s alleged the accused approached people at Humber Bay Park West where he verbally identified himself as a police officer, flashed a gold-coloured badge and attempted to question them about why they were at the park.

It is further alleged that on Tuesday, the accused was at a business in the Ripley and Ormskirk Aves. area with a dog where an employee advised the accused that dogs were not permitted inside.

Police also alleged the accused returned shortly after without the dog, displayed a gold-coloured badge, and claimed the dog was a working K9 while repeatedly identifying himself as a public safety officer who was inspecting for food safety.

Police said he left the business when the employee continued to question him.

On Wednesday, Amr Ahmed Kamel El Khairree, 48, was charged with three counts of personating peace officer.

T.O. TEEN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

A 17-year-old Toronto teenager faces multiple charges in an assault with a weapon investigation.

Toronto Police said on Sunday around 6 p.m., officers responded to a call for a stabbing in the Dawes Rd.-Victoria Park Ave. area.

It’s alleged that two victims were assaulted by the suspect after a verbal altercation became physical.

Police said one victim was assaulted with a weapon and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the second victim sustained minor injuries.

On Tuesday, the 17-year-old Toronto youth was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of assault cause bodily harm, possess weapon for a dangerous purpose and fail to comply with release order.

The youth can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

CLARINGTON MAN CHARGED IN BANK ROBBERIES

Toronto Police have charged a 60-year-old Clarington man in connection with two bank robberies.

On May 22 — and again on Tuesday — police responded to a robbery call in the Kingston Rd. and Victoria Park Ave. area.

It’s alleged that in each incident, a lone male suspect entered a bank wearing a mask, approached a teller, produced a handgun, made a demand for cash, took a quantity of cash and fled the scene.

On Thursday, a search warrant was executed and it’s further alleged that at the time of the arrest, officers recovered a replica handgun and items of evidentiary value to the investigation.

Richard Atanasoff faces two counts each of robbery with firearm and disguise with intent.
