Durham Regional Police arrested a woman after responding Saturday afternoon to a call in the Harwood Ave.-King Cres. area.

Police alleged a woman waved a machete-style knife and pointed the weapon at a man at a plaza.

The man did not suffer any injuries.

Kaley-Ann Freier, 25, of Toronto, is charged with possessing a weapon dangerous to the public.

Cellphone store robbed in Courtice

Police are looking for four men who broke into a Rogers cellphone store in Courtice.

Masked thieves broke a glass entry door of the store — located at 7-1420 Regional Hwy. 2 — and loaded electronic equipment into a white cargo van around 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, according to Durham Regional Police.

The suspects were gone by the time police officers arrived.

All four suspects are described as white men, between 25-35 years of age.

Three men busted for drugs during traffic stop

Three men face drug charges after a traffic stop in Oshawa, according to police.

After a traffic stop Sunday in the Olive-Cadillac Aves. area at 4:30 a.m., a driver walked away from a vehicle before refusing to identify himself and attempting to flee.

The motorist was eventually taken into custody, while two males stayed in the vehicle.

Police said officers seized a handgun holster, drug paraphernalia, and almost 2,000 dilaudid pills.

Two 18-year-olds — Jayden Malual and Coady Daniel Crowe, both of Oshawa — and Aniruddho Kazi, 21, of Oakville, face drug trafficking charges.

Motorcyclist accused of fleeing collision

A motorcyclist suffered injuries while he was arrested for allegedly fleeing the scene of a collision in Ajax, according to Durham Regional Police.

The driver of a motorcycle allegedly took off on foot after colliding with an SUV in the Rossland-Ravenscroft Rd. area, said police.

A police helicopter and dogs were deployed, and the motorcyclist was allegedly found hiding in a ravine, said police.

The suspect suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a hospital.

An adult male is charged with obstructing a peace officer, leaving the scene of an accident, and other offences. The Ontario Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate.

Police probe arson in Burlington

Police are looking for an arsonist after a fire was intentionally set at a new townhouse complex in Burlington.

The targeted complex — in the Appleby Line-Taywood Ave. area — was in final stages of completion with some units occupied, according to Halton Regional Police.

Firefighters put out the blaze, which was set around 6 a.m. on Oct. 11. No one was injured.,

Police are urging anyone with dashcam footage of a stretch of Appleby Line — from Taywood Dr. to the QEW,  between 5:45 a.m. and 6 a.m., on Oct. 11 — to contact them at 905-825-4777, ext. 2316.
