Driver charged, pedestrian killed after overnight crash in Scarborough

A 27-year-old man was charged with impaired driving causing death after a pedestrian was struck and killed early Monday morning in Scarborough.

Officers were notified of a collision Monday at 12:16 a.m. in the Morningside Ave.-Morningside Trail area, Toronto Police said in a news release. A red Ford F-150 truck was travelling northbound on Morningside Ave. before a 38-year-old pedestrian was struck and died at the scene.

The vehicle and driver remained at the scene.

Harison Denzil, 27, was charged with impaired driving causing death and was to appear in court on Monday morning.
