Hamilton Police investigate tow truck centre

Hamilton Police are investigating a local tow operator and collision centre for alleged “predatory business practices.”

The company being investigated is A.T. Collision and Legacy Towing, which both operate out of 510 Cannon St. E. in Hamilton.

Police are asking anyone who had their vehicle taken by A.T. Collision which is being held to fill out a Hamilton Police report.

“Hamilton Police are reminding drivers that it is illegal for tow trucks to approach a driver at the scene of a collision unless they have been called by the driver or by police,” police said in a release.

“In Ontario, tow truck operators and vehicle storage providers must abide by a code of conduct and be certified to offer services in Ontario.”

Police urged anyone with information to call police at 905-546-3841.
