Police are warning the public to be on the lookout for a high-risk violent offender who gave law enforcement the slip in downtown Toronto after removing his ankle monitor.

York Regional Police said Neal Bowie, 42, of King Township, was last seen Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m. in the Yonge St.-Charles St. W. area, which is south of Bloor St., after allegedly failing to return to his court-ordered address.

They said officers are “actively seeking his whereabouts” and warned people not to approach him and instead call 911 immediately.

Police said they believe he is still in Toronto.

Bowie is a white male, 5-foot-9 and 146 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black Blue Jays sweater, black Blue Jays pants and brown slippers.
