CRIME SCENE: Suspect nabbed for break-and-enter

Toronto Police have charged a 54-year-old Toronto man in a break-and-enter investigation.

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 4:30 a.m., police were called to a break-and-enter at a business in the area of Danforth Ave. and Logan Ave.

The suspect allegedly stole items and fled in an unknown direction.

On Monday, Peter Maroulis was charged with seven counts of break-and-enter and 21 counts of breach of probation.

CANADA-WIDE WARRANT FOR FEDERAL OFFENDER

Provincial police have issued an Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of a federal offender.

John Francis Curtin is wanted as a result of a breach of his statutory release.

Curtin, 69, is a white male, 5-foot-10, 150 lbs., with long grey and brown hair, hazel eyes and a scar on his nose. He usually has facial hair.

The OPP says was serving a year year, one month and 20-day sentence for two counts of armed robbery, two counts of robbery, possess weapon or imitation, four counts of break-and-enter, four counts of theft over, two counts of theft under, used forged document, forgery, possession of property obtained by crime, and impaired driving.

Curtin is known to frequent Hamilton, Brantford, Toronto, Thunder Bay, Edmonton and Winnipeg.

MAN CHARGED FOR UTTERING THREATS

Durham Regional Police have charged a man for making threats against another from an apartment window in Whitby.

On Friday, at 7:25 a.m., police responded to an armed person call in the area of Dundas and Palace Sts.

Police had been told a man with a gun was making threats from his apartment window to a man in a parking lot.

The area was contained by police, who started negotiating to have the suspect surrender.

Police managed to enter the apartment and took the suspect into custody.

No firearm was found.

William Joseph Bolton, 33, of Whitby, is charged with utter threats, assault with a weapon, and breach probation.

MAN ACCUSED OF STEALING BOOZE

Peel Regional Police have arrested a man for a number of alleged thefts at LCBOs totalling $63,000.

Police say between April and November of this year, Abdul Aziz Adel, 38, of no fixed address, allegedly robbed several LCBO in Peel Region and surrounding areas.

On Sunday, Adel was arrested and charged with theft over $5,000, two counts of assault with intent to resist arrest, obstruct police, and two counts of fail to comply with release order.

Adel was held for a bail hearing.

He was wanted on four outstanding warrants and was on multiple forms of release for theft and robbery offences at the time the LCBO robberies occurred.

HALTON COPS PROBE HIGH-END VEHICLE BREAK-INS

Halton Regional Police are investigating break-ins that targeted luxury vehicles.

Police believe a pair of Oakville break-ins are linked.

On Saturday morning at 4:10 a.m., suspects attempted unsuccessfully to break into a home on Lakeshore Rd.

Police believe the break-in was to steal keys to the resident’s vehicle.

A while later, two suspects were at an address in the area of Third Line and Rebecca St. in Oakville and used a hammer to smash a window.

Once in the home, the suspects stole keys to a Mercedes SUV in the driveway.

The SUV was stolen by the suspects, cops alleged.

The residents didn’t interact with the accused thieves.

Police located the SUV and said it was being driven alongside an Audi at high rates of speed and running red lights.

Police later found the Audi, which had been stolen in Peel, abandoned in the area of Dorval Dr. and Kerr St.

Police believe these break-ins are related.

TORONTO COPS LOOKING FOR MALE SUSPECT

Toronto Police need help identifying a man wanted in a fraud investigation.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7:11 p.m., police were called for a fraud in the area of Hwy. 27 and Belfield Rd.

Police say a male suspect entered the cab of a transport truck and took a wallet and cellphone of the driver of the truck. The thief then used the victim’s credit and debit cards at various locations.

The suspect is described as 20-25 years of age, 5-foot-9, with a medium build, black beard, and short black hair.

He is known to operate a blue Volkswagen 4-door Jetta with a sunroof.
