Toronto Police are looking for a suspect after a man allegedly broke into a midtown Toronto home last week — and stayed inside for several hours before being confronted by its occupants.
In a news release issued Thursday, cops said they received a report of a break-and-enter in the Avenue Rd.-Chaplin Cres. area, south of Eglinton Ave. W., on Aug. 29.
Investigators said a man entered the residence at “some point in the evening” while the occupants were home, and stayed for “a couple of hours” before being confronted by the homeowners.
The suspect is described as a white man, between 30 and 40 years old, with a thin build and dark hair. He is about 5-foot-10 and was wearing a grey hoodie and shorts at the time of the incident.
There were no reported injuries.
Police are reminding residents to ensure doors and windows are properly secured.
