Toronto Police are asking for helping identifying a woman wanted after a taxi was stolen downtown near the waterfront earlier this month.
On Saturday, Sept. 7 around 12:45 a.m., cops say a cabbie was at the Bay St. and Lake Shore Blvd. W. intersection when he “exited his vehicle with the keys still in the ignition, and left the vehicle unlocked to throw out garbage.”
The next thing he knew, the cab was being driven southbound on Bay St. and he called police.
Officers have since recovered the vehicle, though police did not reveal the location, and obtained dashcam footage from the taxi.
The female suspect is described as having shoulder-length wavy hair. A video (see above) and images were released on Monday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5200, or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
