A man faces a murder charge after his wife was killed in Oshawa, according to Durham Regional Police.
When officers arrived at a home on Eulalie Ave. in downtown Oshawa, they found a 48-year-old woman suffering from “obvious signs of trauma.” She was rushed to a hospital, where she died.
The woman’s 41-yer-old husband, who was in custody, faces a charge of first-degree murder.
There were two children and an elderly person in the home at the time of the murder, but they were not injured
Sgt. Joanne Bortoluss said officers are investigating the case as an incident of partner violence, according to the CBC.
“Anytime there’s any sort of incident like this, I think it affects the community a great deal,” Bortoluss said.
Police called for anyone with information to come forward.
