Two full-patch Bacchus MC members and one associate of the third largest 1% motorcycle club in Canada face charges stemming from an auto theft investigation in Ontario.
Ontario Provincial Police say Project Abstract was launched after the OPP-led Biker Enforcement Unit received information in June 2023 that Bacchus MC members were allegedly in possession of stolen vehicles with fraudulent vehicle identification numbers — known as “re-vinned” vehicles.

BEU members executed search warrants in Burlington, Orangeville, Etobicoke, Hamilton, Mississauga, and Paradise, N.L., on Nov. 16, 2023, the OPP revealed Wednesday, adding a search warrant was also executed at the Bacchus MC Clubhouse in Oakville.
The OPP said numerous police services assisted in the multi-jurisdictional investigation, “playing a significant role in disrupting this (alleged) criminal activity.”
Police allege officers recovered six stolen and re-vinned vehicles, ownerships, insurance, key fobs and fraudulent VIN plates.
As a result of Project Abstract, three people were arrested on July 2.
Chad Burtt, 48, of Oakville, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, fraudulent concealment and fraud over $5,000.
Robert Janes, 39, of Orangeville, was charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of fraudulent concealment.

Alan Miles, 37, of Amaranth, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The accused are scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on July 30.
