2 people injured after Hwy. 401 crash involving transport truck

Two people were hurt, including one in critical condition, after a collision involving a transport truck on Hwy. 401 in Whitby early Sunday morning.

The OPP said the crash happened at 3:25 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway at Courtice Rd.

Police said the passenger of the car was taken to a Toronto trauma centre in critical condition, while the driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. They said the driver of the transport truck wasn’t hurt.

Police closed the westbound lanes of the highway Sunday morning for the investigation. The lanes had reopened before noon.

4-VEHICLE COLLISION SENDS 2 TO HOSPITAL

A man and a woman were hospitalized after a four-vehicle crash in North York Saturday evening.

Toronto Police said it happened at 9:22 a.m. in the area of Dufferin St. and Wenderly Dr.

One vehicle was flipped in the crash.

A male was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while the female was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

PEDESTRIAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER CRASH

A woman has life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Leaside Saturday afternoon.

Police said the woman was hit at 5:56 p.m. in the area of Yonge St. and Chatsworth Dr.

The vehicle remained at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
