5 people charged with drug, weapon offences after Scarborough bust

Five people including a youth were arrested and drugs and weapons were seized as part of an investigation in Scarborough.

Toronto Police’s 41 Division major crime unit and neighbourhood community officers started a drug investigation on Saturday. Officers applied for and were granted search warrants for a residence and a motor vehicle, leading to the arrests of five people in the Eglinton Ave. E.-Midland Ave. area on Monday.

Police alleged that during the arrest of Raulston Hottar, 21, of Toronto, a firearm was located. During the arrest of the youth, a firearm was also located. And during the search warrant at the residence, two more firearms, ammunition and drugs – 226 g of purple methamphetamine, 193 g of green methamphetamine, and 428 g of cocaine — were found.

The seized firearms included four semi-automatic loaded handguns (two were equipped with high-capacity magazines and one was equipped with a Glock switch capable of converting the firearm to automatic fire.)

Raulston Hottar, Phildel Hottar, 22, Jathanelle Latulippe, 18, and Shanetel Macrae, 47, all from Toronto, and a male youth were charged with various drug and firearm offences. The youth can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
