Appearing confused and often resting his head in his hands, Neng Jia Jin made a brief video court appearance in Old City Hall Friday, less than 24 hours after he was charged with killing a stranger and injuring another at the High Park subway.
The thin man, wearing a white jumpsuit while sitting in a video booth at 14 Division, listened to the proceedings through a Mandarin interpreter. The 52-year-old was told he was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one of attempted murder.
