Man charged with kidnapping in Kitchener Amber Alert of teen girl

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a man after they say a teenaged girl was abducted at gunpoint in Kitchener, resulting in an Amber Alert being issued.
On Monday at 5:30 p.m., police were called to the area of Strasburg Rd. and Rush Meadow St. for a break-and-enter and a missing 14-year-old girl.

An Amber Alert was issued, and the girl was found in Simcoe County by the OPP.
An unnamed Waterloo man, 36, is charged with kidnapping while using firearm, and break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The victim and the accused are known to one another, police said, adding the investigation is ongoing.
The man remains in custody pending a bail hearing, police said in a release Tuesday morning.
