“And upon responding to the call, a male in his 40s was located suffering from a gunshot,” said Dhoum. “As a result of his injuries, the male was pronounced deceased.”
Throughout the morning, Dhoum could be seen atop an adjacent building with another man — believed to be a maintenance worker — removing video cameras that pointed downwards towards the parking lot area and front doors of businesses.

Dhoum could be seen taken evidence, and placing them in bags before taking pictures of them with his cellphone camera.
A pair of forensic officers made their way back and forth to the second-floor apartments located above businesses — a cannabis shop, a Caribbean jerk restaurant and two wellness spas.
The plaza’s parking lot was sealed off with police tape. Some people came by the crime scene around noon and spoke briefly to police.
The body was removed by the coroner’s office just before 1 p.m.
Homicide detectives said that life-saving measures were performed by emergency personnel.
