Brampton rental listing boasts 'no privacy' on second-floor landing

Article content
As rental market options continue to be dismal, a space in Brampton will have you thinking twice about all the other listings you may have scrolled by.
The home appears to be a semi-detached on a corner lot in a standard Brampton subdivision (in this case, Lakelands Village, near Bovaird Dr. E. and Hwy. 410), so presumably it’s a three-to-four bedroom.
However, if potential renters were hoping to get one of those bedrooms, they are sorely mistaken.
You have to give to the potential landlords, though, because they don’t sugarcoat the ad.
“No privacy,” it begins. “Bed on living room floor.”
The ad reiterates of the second-floor landing space: “Sleep on queen mattress on upper living room floor with no privacy,” then adds, “Don’t be afraid and wave to others.”
The tenant would be expected to share 1.5 bathrooms with others in the house.
While it’s not clear how many housemates there would be, the ad does note a schedule regarding the “required” cleaning of the main floor and kitchen “every sixth week, everybody takes a turn.”

It’s urged that both washrooms are cleaned every third week, while laundry can be done on weekday evenings and anytime on weekends (though only until 11 p.m.).
The location is steps away from a lake and internet is included, according to the ad.
