Break-in, arson at Richmond Hill comedy club no joke to cops

York Regional Police aren’t laughing.
They are looking for suspects or witnesses following a break-and-enter and arson at a comedy club in Richmond Hill.
On Tuesday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m., police were called to a comedy club on York Blvd. near East Beaver Creek Rd. for a report of a break, enter and attempted arson.
When police arrived at the club they found the front doors had been smashed open.
An accelerant had been poured over tables and a fire was started.

Police believe the suspect or suspects broke into the club around 2 a.m. but were scared away shortly after because of a delivery truck.
A suspect was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, possibly with a Calvin Klein logo, as well as a black face mask, dark pants and light-coloured shoes.
The investigation is ongoing.
